Bodega Bay Camp Out

Our May adventure will take us to Bodega Bay on the weekend of May 18-20, 2012. We will camp at Doran Beach Regional Park near Bodega Bay. It is right on the beach so get out the sunscreen, chapstick, and sunglasses. The fee for the weekend is $18.00. Please see Wei Hsieh for details.

Capital City District Dinner May 12, 2012

Come join the parents and leaders of Troop 380 as we honor the district leaders, Spark Plug Awardees, and the Silver Bear recipients at the annual District Dinner. This special event will be held at the LDS Church at 51st and Dover. Please see Chris for more information and be part of the Troop 380 reservation. Adults are $21.00. Youth are $10.00.

Capital City / Sierra Gateway District Spring Camporee: April 27-29, 2012

The two districts will join forces at Gibson Ranch for the Spring Camporee. The Zombie Apocalypse will feature patrol competition, the OA call out, Dutch Oven cooking contest, and much more. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Troop Parent Meeting: Tuesday, April 24, 2012

Troop 380 parents and adult leaders are encouraged to attend our monthly meetings held on the last Tuesday of every month. We meet at 7:30 PM in the church business building on the second floor. Please contact Zenaida Kamine if you have any questions.

Greater Yosemite Council Jamborall

Troop 380 will attend this GYC event this weekend. The Jamborall will be held at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock. It should be a great weekend. We will leave at 5:00 PM from our house.

Troop 380 Parent Meeting

Our monthly Troop Parent Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at 7:30 PM.  All parents of Troop 380 Scouts are encouraged to participate in these monthly meetings.  It is important that parents support their scouts and the troop by participating in the Troop Parent Meetings.  We meet on the second floor of the business building.  Please see our Committee Chairperson, Zenaida Kamine if you have any questions.

Leader Specific Training - Saturday, April 21, 2012

Every Scout deserves a trained leader.  The Capital City District will be conducting Leaders Specific Training on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the LDS Church on 51st and Dover.  This training will help you become a trained leader.  All parents should attend.  Parents wishing to become an Assistant Scoutmaster, Committee Member, or other Venturing or Cub program leaders should attend this event.  Please contact Sharon Jonas at 916-366-8966 for more information.  Troop 380 wants 100% of our registered adults to be trained leaders.

Capital City and Sierra Gateway Spring Camporee: April 27-29, 2012

The Spring Camporee will be held at Gibson Ranch on the weekend of April 27-29, 2012. The camporee features patrol competition and a special campfire including the Order of the Arrow Call Out. This year's theme is "Zombie Apocalypse." It promises to be lost of fun. Permission slips are available on our troop website. Cost for the weekend is $20.00, which includes food and t-shirt.

Roundtable; Thursday, April 12, 2012

Each month on the second Thursday of the month, the Capital City District hosts Roundtable. This special gathering of unit and district leaders helps everyone extend their knowledge of scouting and learn about upcoming district and council events. Roundtable is held at the LDS Church at 3001 Wisseman Drive. Starting time is always 7:30 PM. Scouters usually wear their uniforms. It is a great way to meet the other leaders in our district. This month's Roundtable will be held on Thursday, April 12th. Featured this month will be Johnie Pennington on the subject of camping. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Spring Merit Badges Begin on April 9th

Our Spring Merit Badge program begins on Monday, April 9, 2012. All Scouts should arrive at 6:30 PM. Please bring paper and pen. If you have the merit badge book it is very helpful. Joseph Jacobs will be offering Citizenship in the Community; Sherri Brown will be offering Emergency Preparedness; Charles Potter will be offering Law; and Frank Shaw will be offering Coin Collecting. Also all New Scouts will be able to work on Tenderfoot thru First Class Rank Advancement with Neil Ishikawa.
